FOUNDATION FOR YOUTH AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
The Foundation for Youth and Economic Development, (FYED) is the nonprofit 501(c)3 Corporation, founded to further the mission of the Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust, (MDEAT); in their commitment of assisting at-risk youth, through one of the three-pillars of the department, the Youth Services, Teen Court Division, also supporting the community through the Housing Development Division, offering first-time home buyer funding and providing grants for business owners through the Economic Development Division.
FYED and MDEAT will continue the impactful work through the three-pillars of the department.
The Youth Services Division, which includes the diversionary program, Teen Court, with a recidivism rate of only 4%. Career pathway development is an essential aspect of the program, to ensure the success of the Teens becoming productive citizens.
Through the Housing Division, MDEAT is assisting with building strong vibrant neighborhoods, by proving funding for home ownership and also a home restoration initiative. Additionally, working with housing developers on multi-unit projects.
The Economic Division of MDEAT has provided grants to more than 100 local entrepreneurs, which breeds job creation in the neighborhoods, thus strengthening the economic community of Miami-Dade County.
The future of our community depends on the opportunities we create. The empowerment of our youth by guiding to successful career pathways.
The commitment of supporting homeownership and developing housing projects preserves our neighborhoods. Also, providing business grants supporting local businesses and enriches us all.
